Well wishes were pouring in all day Saturday for a beloved sports betting figure who has entered into hospice care.

A family friend of Alan "Dink" Denkenson confirmed the famed professional sports bettor and bookie had taken a turn for the worst following a week in the ICU.  Details of his illness were not immediately disclosed.

"Hi, this is a family friend of Alan 'Dink'. It is with great sadness that we share that Alan is in hospice. He fought the good fight in the ICU this past week, but he knew it was time to transition to hospice today. He is being given morphine every 4 hours and resting comfortably."

Bruce Willis portrayed "Dink" in the 2012 film "Lay the Favorite".

"Dink" was also an accomplished poker player, who finished 6th in the World Series of Poker Super Seniors (Event #36) in 2018.

Boxing and MMA expert Joey Oddessa expressed his sadness via Twitter.

"Had my first phone conversation with Alan around 18 years ago. He did me a solid w/ couple hiccups I had. My payers are with him and those who love and care about him."

Pro sports bettor Gadoon “Spanky” Kryollos had this to offer:

"No matter what happens, Dinky’s impact will live on forever with all the lives he’s touched. He truly is a legend."

He added:

"I love you Dinky. We still have many more dinners to eat and many more late night conversations to have and many more wrestling events to attend together. Keep fighting!"

"Dink" had attended Spanky's BetBash events.

So many friends of the Gambling911.com website were posting their prayers and love for "Dink" on their personal social media pages.

Gambling911.com will continue to monitor this story closely.
