Below you will find current and opening odds for four UFC fights on the books, as well as the two potential fights Alexander Volkanovski.

It was announced Monday October 10 that Volkanovski will serve as the backup to the Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev bout at UFC 280.

“We’re locked in as a backup fighter,” Volkanovski said on his YouTube channel. “I’ve been calling it, I said I wanted it, just had to make sure the hand was all good, so we’re all good. We’re locked in, and we got the clearance to fight.

“The UFC is on board, everyone is on board, so I’ll be at UFC 280 to make weight, and yeah, looking forward to it. We’ll see what happens. If someone doesn’t make it, I’m there to save the day. If not, at least I’m locked in as the next guy to fight for that lightweight title, and that’s that.”

Volkanovski's odds of fighting in this top card for UFC 280 are actually pretty good.

Oliveira has a history of missing weight.  He was even forced to surrender his title after missing weight for a title defense against Justin Gaethje this past May.  And while Oliveira would go onto beat Gaethje, he still ended up losing his belt.

Betting will also be available for the Kevin Holland vs. Stephen Thompson case.  This one features competitive odds.

Holland last week announced his intention to retire ‘unless something super-duper magical pops up’.

“So I’m retired. I’m officially retired,” Holland said. “I’m retired from fighting. I had a good fight, good payday, I had a good run. I see some of the people online [saying] ‘obviously he realizes he’ll never get the belt’ and my little psychedelic trip, that means I was wrong. I can’t be wrong on a psychedelic trip. I’ve lost coming out to Young Boy. That was my last hope, never losing coming out to Young Boy. Times are rough for your boy.

“But I’m really, really happy on the green side. Unless something super-duper magical pops up, yeah, I’m pretty happy with the way things are.”

That's didn't last long.  In a matter of days, he was out of "retirement".
