The question of the day: Am I considered a "degenerate" if I'm betting on NFL preseason games?

The answer: Hardly.  In fact, it's pretty smart considering there is a definite edge for savvy sports bettors.

We hark back to the first preseason game of 2022: Raiders vs. Jaguars.

Sharps beat up on the books, as was illustrated when the line opened as a PICK'EM and was bet up to Raiders -3 in a matter of seconds.

Dave Mason of BetOnline reported that this game brought in more action than any of the night's MLB slate.

Pro sports bettor Captain Jack Andrews said via Twitter:

"Any time someone calls you a degenerate for betting NFL preseason... ...irrationally go off on them claiming that degenerate is a deeply offensive word."

Jason Dewey tweeted:

"Damn I thought it was a term of endearment."

Jack had previously tweeted out that "professional athletes are allowed to be degenerate gamblers without suspicion that they are throwing games."

He added: "Has anyone every questioned Jaromir Jagr, or Allen Iverson for match fixing?  Both notorious casino gamblers."
