Baylor - Thus far the Bears have been Gambling911.com's first and only play for this March Madness tournament and they came through in a big way. But this will likely be the end for Baylor.
Syracuse went to the full-court press late, but with a minute left, Baylor found Freddie Gillespie open down court for the dunk that basically sealed this. Baylor wins, 78-69.
Gonzaga - The Zags beat Fairleigh Dickinson 87-49.
Predictions
Winners and Whiners: "This is going to be tough for Baylor, who got past Syracuse on the strength of a hot perimeter shooting night. Another major factor was the fact that the Orange had suspended Frank Howard before the game, which forced Tyus Battle to run the point instead of being a scorer first. The Bears are now going to have to contend with a dangerous Gonzaga team that has plenty of weapons, especially with Tillie back in the mix. The Bulldogs have too much talent for most teams to contend with, and not even Baylor’s good defensive presence can keep them in this one. Look for Gonzaga to run their way to a win and a berth in the Sweet 16."
Prediction: Gonzaga Bulldogs -13
Action vs. Line Movement
No surprise here: Gonzaga was seeing 85% of the action as a -13.5 favorite.
