Clarke will be promoted from Triple-A Reno to make his second career start after allowing two runs in six innings against Tampa Bay on May 7. "He's a name we're all very familiar with," manager Torey Lovullo told reporters. "Taylor's throwing the ball extremely well. When he's come up, he's executed the right kind of game plan." Suarez made his season debut in last Monday's 4-1 loss to Atlanta and allowed three runs on four hits in six innings. "He was a strike away from a great start," manager Bruce Bochy told reporters. Marte is 5-for-9 with a home run against Suarez, who posted a 6.33 ERA in six starts for Triple-A Sacramento before last Monday's promotion.
Diamondbacks are 1-6 in their last 7 games vs. a left-handed starter.
