Betting the Washington Nationals June 17 - Patrick Corbin Ready for a Breakout Monday?
Washington Nationals starter Patrick Corbin (5-5, 4.11) is currently on a three-game downward spiral and due on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies where he takes on Jake Arrietta, also floudering of late but somehow managing to capture the win in what was hardly an impressive outing.

We tend not to back teams that own records under .500, however, the Nationals are currently playing well over .500 Baseball in their last 20 appearances, going 14-7 over their last 21 games. This particular series against the Phillies, at least on paper, should further benefit the Nats.
Corbin may becoming off three consecutive losses. but his previous to this poor performance featured a shutout versus the Marlins.
Since that shutout against the Marlins on May 25 his ERA has ballooned from 2.85 to 4.11.
We look forward to reviewing the line and total movements for the Phillies-Nats game to provide us with a clearer picture of how this game could transpire. Early indications are that Corbin should have a productive outing Monday. Typically we would look for a line that favors Washington and drifts upwards. The line should be nowhere near or above -160, making for a more competive betting opportunity Monday.
The Nats have enjoyed success versus the Phillies of late, where they have won 19 of their last 28 home meetings. They have also won ten of the last fifteen versus Philadelphia with only two games played at home over this span.
There is one caveat when it comes to the Nationals. The Nats bullpen has been on a roll the last few weeks, this is true, however, it still ranks dead last in Major League Baseball.
