He used to have to place much of his wagers through other people.

In April 2017 Walters was convicted of insider trading.

In the wake of a federal appeals court having upheld his conviction and five-year prison sentence, Walters' attorneys took the last-ditch legal option on May 3 of asking the Supreme Court to order the lower court to send up the record of the case for review. The court typically only takes up cases of national significance or those of precedential value. Even then, officials acknowledge the court accepts a mere 100-150 of the more than 7,000 cases that it is asked to review each year.  More From ESPN.com Here

Pushback From New York's Powerful Horse Racing Industry re Sports Betting

An amended New York sports betting bill eliminated racetracks and OTBs while attempting to allow mobile wagering.  Governor Andrew Cuomo has been against the later, and now you have the powerful horse racing industry feeling left out.

Controversial "Integrity Fee" Getting in the Way of Illinois Sports Betting Push

Major League Baseball Deputy General Counsel Bryan Seeley is one of the voices calling for a controversial "integrity fee" to be added to Illinois legislation allowing sports wagering in the state.

“And that certainly informs our views on sports betting now, but we understand that sports betting is coming to this country and so it’s important that Illinois and other states get it right,” Seeley said.
