Bovada Won't Be Paying Streaker....But They Will Be Paying Both Sides of Bet to Others
A Super Bowl streaker has changed his story three times, and nobody is buying any of it.
Yuri Andrade claims he placed a bet on a streaker taking to the field during this year's Super Bowl. He then ran out in a thong and got tackled.
The streaker bet was a winner! He was not.
He claims to have placed a $50,000 bet to win $375,000.
After it was revealed that no offshore sportsbook would have taken such a wager, Andrade then claimed he sent a friend to Vegas to place the bet.
There is one small problem. Vegas sportsbooks are prohibited from taking this type of bet.
When all else fails, blame our friends at Bovada.
Andrade told a Tampa Bay radio station that he recruited several friends to place wagers from different accounts on the gambling site Bovada at +750 odds.
Bovada wasn't buying any of it, but a rep did tell TMZ there were irregularities involving the streaker prop.
“Some betting irregularities on our Super Bowl prop ‘Will a fan run onto the field during the game?’” the company “will refund all losing bets on the streaker wager — along with ‘all those ‘YES’ wagers we’ve determined to have had no part in the betting irregularities.’”
“Our players have always trusted us to ensure the integrity of all props offered in our sportsbook,” a Bovada spokesman told Front Office Sports. “We will continue to make sure that any publicity stunts or ill-intended behavior cannot adversely affect the outcome of a player’s wager.”
Translation: Andrade is not getting paid by Bovada, nor should he be.
