With the 2019 California legislative session due to end September 13, there is not much time to get a bill passed this year that would allow online sportsbooks to physically operate in the Golden State, but we can't fault one lawmaker for trying. A measure to legalize sports in the Golden State has been introduced by California Assemblyman Adam Gray.
ACA 16 would seek to get legalized sports betting on a voter referendum for November 2020.
"The goal is to get something on the 2020 November ballot," Gray told ESPN on Thursday.
Don't count on it.
