Not any time soon. The tribal compacts have their own agendas and there has been fighting between them with unsuccessful efforts to allow online poker in the state over the past decade.

Even as a California resident, you can still place real money bets on the FanDuel app, but only when visiting a handful of states including New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The FanDuel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August 2018. The FanDuel sportsbook app went live in PA the summer of 2019. Since this time, FanDuel has opened in numerous states across the US.
Set up your FanDuel account prior to arriving in a state where they are regulated. You will only be able to place bets when physically located within that state. Payouts may take longer to receive when compared to a sportsbook like BetUS, which will sometimes pay within a matter of hours depending on the funding method (Bitcoin being the best).
