The Texas Teams

Okay so the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans do not look promising in 2021, but in Major League Baseball we still have the Astros.

It's just not as much of a given.

From Athlon Sports:

The Astros' championship window is narrowing, not closing. But their days as a superteam will end in 2021, especially in the wake of Justin Verlander's elbow injury and the departure of George Springer in free agency. Their stout position player core is still spearheaded by Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, and Carlos Correa, while the rotation will be fronted by Zack Greinke, Lance McCullers Jr., and Framber Valdez. Correa, McCullers, and Greinke are free agents following 2021, inviting one to wonder whether this season may be Houston's last best chance at a second World Series title. To win it, unproven players must fill outfield vacancies, and young pitchers who debuted last season must sustain their success.

Texas teams were certainly shining ahead of the 2021 March Madness.

Baylor, in particular, had but one loss to kick off March.

They also had the second shortest odds of winning the NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament with a payout potential of $330 on a $100 bet.

The Houston Cougars had the 5th shortest odds of winning at 18-1.

The Texas Longhorns came in at 28-1 odds.

Texas Tech was at 30-1 odds of winning.

SMU had 130-1 odds.
