Can't Bet the Cavs From Virginia

Sports betting officially launched in the commonwealth of Virginia in late 2021, courtesy of FanDuel.  You just can't bet your beloved Cavaliers there though.  A number of offshore sportsbooks the likes of BetUS are still accessible from Virginia and do take bets on the Cavs, so no worries there.   BetUS offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $2500) - Lightning fast payouts - Live in-play betting most games - In business since 1994

FanDuel is in-state licensed and allowed to appear on an app platform but has its limits.  BetUS, for example, permits those 18 and up, allows wagering on Virginia colleges and games that feature them, and they even offer election prop bets.

Virginia became the latest in around a dozen of US states that now license sports betting.

FanDuel Sportsbook was one of the first companies to receive its license.  It will operate through a partnership with the Washington Football Team.

Meanwhile, two dozen other would-be competitors were in the process of coming online, if they weren't already.  None of those will be allowed to take bets on Virginia schools or games that feature them.

The Virginia Cavaliers are among the most successful college basketball programs....Just not this year.
