Can't Bet With the Draftkings Sports Betting App Fom NYC

Commercials for the Draftkings sports betting app will be prevalent in the New York City area.  Too bad they won't be able to use it.  For now, NYC residents and vistitors can only access sports betting sites via internationally-licensed websites, some of which have been in business for nearly 20 years....so not a bad deal. 

Online sports betting in New Jersey is legal and available via three companies now offering apps, however, geo-location technology prevents wagering access beyond the Garden State's borders.

Millions of folks, including those throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, will be exposed to the Draftkings commericals but won't be able to bet with them as a result.

You might be better off.  The Draftkings and similar apps will be imposing a 13% tax on gambling winnings.  In other words, that free $100 bonus you will be getting at Draftkings simply gets deducted from the couple of hundred dollars you need to pay come April.  Offshore gambling site offer up to $2500 in bonus money.  No taxes!
