Colby Covington Payout Odds With Win Over Kamaru Usman

A win by Colby Covington against Kamaru Usman will pay out a modest $230 on a $100 bet.

Usman is the current welterweight champion.

The experts are pretty much backing the champ and it could seem surprising he wasn't a bigger favorite coming into this fight.

Brian Campbell of CBS Sports:

"For as close as their first fight was in 2019, with Usman scoring a fifth-round TKO, the champion has grown leaps and bounds from a striking perspective in the aftermath. His new relationship with trainer Trevor Wittman has allowed Usman to prosper, fueling stoppage wins over Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal in their own rematch. Covington has a great motor and is capable of holding his own in certain spots. But unless he finds uncommon success in holding Usman down, the champion is too good to do anything but stop him sooner."

Patrick L. Stumberg of SB Nation:

"On the Covington side, it’s hard to make a definitive judgment. That’s because all he’s done in the interim is maul what’s left of Tyron Woodley, which everybody with a lick of sense expected him to. Usman, meanwhile, has visibly improved his striking to the point where he can actually bring the massive power we’d long glimpsed to bear."
