What the Vegas Casinos are Doing to Prevent Coronavirus
While resort casinos on the strip have remained somewhat vague in exactly how they're protecting employees and customers from a possible spread, 13 Action News spoke to several employees who said there are plans being implemented now.
Inside the Wynn, two employees said for the past few weeks, there have been double the number of people on the floor disinfecting slot machines as usual. The majority of table games have added a bottle of hand sanitizer, which a pit boss said is used by dealers before they start playing and to wash down the tables between games. Every couple of rounds, cards get removed to be sanitized or shredded. A bartender at a floor bar said he's wiping counters every 20-30 minutes, which is more than normal.
Just south of the Wynn at the Palazzo and Venetian, several employees said they've added staff to every bathroom for round-the-clock sanitzing of doors, handles, counters and toilets. One pit boss said the resort is being "proactive but not ridiculous."
