Darren Rovell Poached From ESPN by Action Network

Sports business reporter Darren Rovell is leaving ESPN to come join The Action Network.

The New York Post was among the media outlets to break the news Tuesday.

CNN’s Brian Stelter first mentioned Rovell’s potential move, tweeting he heard it was in process.

As of Tuesday, Rovell's Twitter feed still listed him as working for ESPN.

Reports claim that Rovell will focus more on sports betting news as part of the Action Sports Network, though he will still cover the sports business sector.

The Action Network is headquartered in New York City and was founded by The Chernin Group in October, 2017 though the acquisition and roll-up of Sports Insights, Fantasy Labs and the SportsAction app.  Its primary competition includes Oddschecker, SB Nation and the Bleacher Report.
