Our Analysis
This game will be played at 12:30 pm EST Thanksgiving Day (Thursday). Until Tuesday evening, books had moved from -3.5 to -4 with Chicago as the favorite. That's a reasonable move as the betting public was backing Chicago at a better than 70% clip on the spread.
On Tuesday evening, a few of the more aggressive books brought this one down to -3, despite now 65% of the action coming in on Chicago.
One of our sharper books was holding at -3.5 while another took this one off the board. That’s because Mitch Trubisky’s availability for Thursday’s game against the Lions is in doubt. He's day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Even if he does play, this could present an issue.
We'll be monitoring this situation closely. Any action greater than 60% on one side would be considered significant lopsided action for a game being played Thanksgiving Day to a national audience.
As of Tuesday night, we're not convinced the books have a strong opinion on this game. The Trubisky injury status is enough to make us pause.
