Draftkings Makes PA Debut
(November 7, 2019) - DraftKings Inc. today announced the launch of its digital sportsbook app in Pennsylvania. Following DraftKings’ recent expansion into West Virginia and Indiana with its top-rated mobile and online sportsbook, DraftKings now officially offers fans in Pennsylvania an elevated gaming experience. Arriving during the middle of the 2019 NFL season and the start of NBA, fans in the Keystone State can take advantage of advanced in-app features including in-game betting, odds boosts, props and futures, as well as FlashBet for major U.S. and international sports.
“We have seen immense success over the last year with our sportsbook product and are thrilled for this pivotal next step as DraftKings expands into Pennsylvania,” said Jason Robins, co-founder and chief executive officer at DraftKings. “Pennsylvania is home to two of the biggest sports cities in the world and multiple big-time college programs, with some of the most die-hard fan bases of all-time. We could not be more excited to introduce those fans to our top-rated mobile sportsbook and provide them with the unrivaled experience that has become synonymous with DraftKings.”
The demand for sports betting among Pennsylvanians is immense as the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers are among the most bet teams to win Super Bowl LIV. DraftKings’ ability to allow users to bet on the nation’s most popular sport is emblematic of the All-American company’s commitment to reinforcing its position at the forefront of sports entertainment innovation by once again expanding its national reach. To date, DraftKings Sportsbook has already surpassed the $1 billion threshold for total handle, and Pennsylvania bettors appear poised to boost that figure further.
Draftkings Potential Acquisition Could Take Company Public
(October 31, 2019) - IThis week, the company was the subject of a report that it is in takeover talks with the investment company Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp. A deal could potentially help DraftKings go public or merge with another firm.
Two people with knowledge of the situation and who asked to remain anonymous confirmed the talks, which were first reported by Bloomberg, but stressed that a deal is not certain.
“I don’t think that this would come as a surprise to anyone,” said Sara Slane, founder of Slane Advisory, a consulting firm working in the field. “Obviously, the sports-betting industry right now is red hot, and DraftKings has done a great job positioning themselves early on.”

Draftkings Making Good First Impression in NH
(October 30, 2019) - It looks like Draftkings is about to enter another state market. The company captured top scores in both segments, edging 12 other operators going for a mobile contract and five others looking for a retail contract.
New Hampshire appeared less impressed with Kambi and MGM Resorts/GVC joint venture ROAR Digital.
From LegalSportsReport:
Their proposals fell short of DraftKings Sportsbook, which was the only mobile and retail operator selected for a contract. Intralot was selected on the lottery side.
This might not be the end for the other bidders, however. New Hampshire authorized up to 10 mobile operators and up to five retail operators.
