Gonzaga entered this game as a +8 underdog.

No. 3 Gonzaga upset No. 1 Duke at the Maui Invitational on Wednesday.

"Experience played a big role in this," Zags point guard Zach Norvell Jr. said following the game.

The win thrust the Bulldogs ahead of Kansas in the national rankings to number 1.

ESPN.com wrote of the Bulldogs: “No one will be able to accuse Gonzaga of playing a soft schedule this season; the Bulldogs are scheduled to play two more top-10 teams in the next month: vs. Tennessee in Phoenix and at North Carolina. Will they still be No. 1 by then?”
