An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 struck near the sportsbook havens of Costa Rica and Panama on Wednesday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.

The quake was at a depth of 2 km, according to EMSC, and struck about 321 km (199 miles) southeast of San Jose in Costa Rica.  It was felt in both the San Jose region and Panama City.  These areas are home to dozens of online sportsbooks and web casinos.  No damage is reported in the region that houses sportsbook offices.

The U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center said no tsunami was expected.

Another trembler with a magnitude of 6.3 and a depth of 22 km also struck near Panama, EMSC said.
