Ludwig Paz entered a plea in order to protect his two daughters, both of whom are said to have had a role in his sordid family business.

His partner-in-crime/spouse Arelis Peralta wept as Paz offered an apology for his bad behavior before he was led away in an orange inmate uniform, his hands cuffed behind his back, the New York Daily News reported.

“I want to apologize to the court, the DA’s office and the NYPD for my wrongful behavior,” began Paz, 51, of Queens. “I want to apologize and say sorry and ask for forgiveness to my family for my actions and all the pain and suffering that I’ve caused them."

Prosecutors said one of the daughters served as a jack of all trades for the family business, helping out wherever needed, while the second collected gambling cash.

Several active duty officers were also involved in the business, according to court documents.

Prosecutors say Paz operated brothels in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, regularly delivering $500 payoffs to a Brooklyn vice cop to avoid NYPD interference.
