Where is the FanDuel Sportsbook Located
The FanDuel Sporsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack is located at 1 Racetrack Dr. East Rutherford, NJ. where the Victory Sports Bar had been located. It has expanded to include a larger portion of the facility since the start of Football 2018.
What are the Hours of Operation
Generally the FanDuel Sportsbook will operate between the hours of 10 am and 1 am seven days a week. The book will close earlier on nights when there are no sports events taking place. Likewise, FanDuel will remain open later when games go into extended hours (i.e. late Major League Baseball games).
There were some complaints about the Meadowlands FanDuel Sportsbook closing the counter prior to the conclusion of an extra innings Baseball game the first week of operations. Some tickets weren't paid and the business was low on cash. FanDuel likely learned from this experience and first week mistakes should be enough reason to cut them some slack.
The book has already opened early for the FIFA World Cup games as those were played in Russia with some games starting 7:30 am on the East Coast.
Why Use a Mobile Betting Site
|
Online Sports Betting at the Meadowlands?
Online wagering will be coming soon to the FanDuel Sportsbook in the Meadowlands, however, they do not have an app available as of yet. You will still be able to access internationally-licensed online sports betting sites from anywhere though. The international sites do not impose a state tax. The FanDuel sportsbook imposes a 10 percent tax at the facility and 13 percent when betting online.
Any Age Requirements I Should Know About?
No betting allowed kiddies! Likewise you will need to be 21 or older to place bets. This is another area where the offshores have an advantage as they allow betting by those 18 or older.
What About Live In-Play Wagering?
They do not have terminals in place for this type of betting currently. Again, the international sites do indeed offer LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING and you may be able to access these sites from the FanDuel Sportsbook providing they don't block access.
Tax Filing Information With the IRS
As a gambler, you should always pay your taxes or risk being audited. The FanDuel Sportsbook reports your winnings to the IRS upon collecting your documentation for any amounts over $600 in the course of a specific calendar year (not the equivalent 12 month period). This means you will still be taxed if more than $600 is won in a single week the end of December, even if you haven't placed bets the previous eleven months.
All users who have won more than $600 over the previous calendar year can expect to receive a 1099 Tax Form from us in the mail, which we are required to file with the IRS.
Note that internationally-licensed wagering sites do not report winnings to government agencies like the IRS.
