Football Prop Bets for the Oregon vs. UGA Game Week 1

The line on Saturday's Week 1 game between Oregon and UGA has moved down from Bulldogs -17 to -16 at some books.  Oregon was seeing around 60% to 65% of the betting action overnight.

Georgia (3) had a power rating of 94.95, Oregon (14) 84.20, which gives us a line of Bulldogs -13 once we consider the home field advantage.

These teams will be meeting for the first time since 1977.

Since 2000, the SEC is 12-13 against Pac-12 teams. The SEC has won seven of its past 10 meetings against the Pac-12, though five of those SEC wins were decided by eight points or less.

Ducks are 6-13 Against The Spread in their last 19 games overall.

Oregon's most recent games as a double digit dog were a cover at +6.5 versus Utah (Ducks won outright), +17.5 vs. Washington (Ducks failed to cover), +6 vs. UCLA (failed to cover), +9.5 vs. Stanford (failed to cover).

The key matchup here will be the Ducks’ experienced offensive line against what should still be a solid Georgia defense despite being depleted during the offseason. The Bulldogs had one of the great units in college football a year ago but lost five players to the first-round NFL draft picks. Georgia still has the likes of DL Jalen Carter, OLB Nolan Smith and DBs Kelee Ringo and Christopher Smith.

Dan Lanning has assumed the role of head coach for Oregon.

“There’s definitely some feelings of excitement for me to go play a team that I care about and was a big part of for a long time,” Lanning conceded.

Kirby Smith, meanwhile, agreed to a 10-year contract extension worth more than $110 million coaching the Bulldogs.

Bo Nix transferred to Oregon after starting the last three seasons for Auburn, where he went 0-3 against Georgia.
