Prop DD Fails in Colorado Where it Matters
As of Wednesday morning, it appeared as if Prop DD was on its way to passing in Colorado. Voters narrowly would approve a ballot measure allowing the state to move forward with legalizing sports gambling in the state. This one was moving back and forth all night but, with nearly 20% of the count still left, the YES was winning by around 13,000.
A mandatory recount could be triggered if the difference in votes is less than or equal to 0.5% of the number of the highest votes cast.
One of the big surprises in the returns: the measure, as of 10 p.m., lost in Teller County, home to Cripple Creek, one of three towns that allow casino gambling, and which would vote on whether to allow sports betting in its casinos. Read More
