The Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City has announced the debut of its online sports betting app, PlaySugarHouse.com, in an effort to compete with the first New Jersey sports betting app, courtesy of Draftkings.com.  PlaySugarHouse.com will also look to compete with a few dozen internationally-licensed online sports wagering sites that are accessible from the Garden State

PlaySugarHouse.com launched online sports betting integrated with its online casino, the latest entrant into New Jersey's surging sports betting market.

For the past two weeks, Draftkings has had the New Jersey market to itself.  Reviews of that app have been mostly favorable, though it is only available via iPhone.  PlaySugarHouse is accessible only through Android.

New Jersey regulators approved the Golden Nugget online sports betting app to go live Thursday morning.

In addition to Draftkings, PlaySugarHouse.com will join the Borgata sports betting app (PlayMGM), which went live Wednesday morning.  The Borgata app is also only available via Android for now.  The domain name comes from Borgata's parent company, MGM.

The PlaySugarHouse.com domain name is taken from an online affiliation with Philadelphia's Sugar House Casino.

It is operated by Rush Street Interactive, which already operates a regulated online and mobile sports book in Colombia.

"Being the first U.S.-based gaming operator to launch a regulated online sportsbook outside of the U.S. has been helpful in establishing the SugarHouse Online Sportsbook & Casino," said Rush Street Interactive president Richard Schwartz.
