Looking at revenue, we are seeing a gross revenue of $7.2 million for August. The state collected $1.2 million in taxes. Now, when looking at what people were betting on, we are seeing majority of the wagers on professional sports. Only $120,000 was spent in wagers on college sports. Meanwhile, motor sports accounts for around $130,000.
Local bookies can take advantage through the use of Pay Per Head software solutions. That's because Illinois licensed sportsbooks will not be able to take bets on in-state schools for college basketball.
More importantly perhaps, registration at the licensed online sportsbooks needs to be done in person after October 17.
