Study Shows Western States Want Twitter Gone After Musk Takeover

It appears Californians and many of America's Western inhabitants haven't forgiven Elon Musk for uprooting his Tesla empire and taking it to Texas.

In what, at best, could be called a semi-scientific Twitter study, gaming company BetOnline.ag created a data map showing which states were most in support of leaving Twitter following Musk's purchase.

The website used a social media geo-tracking tool to analyze more than 90,000 tweets that contained the following hashtags over the past three days:

#deletetwitter

#leavingtwitter

#goodbyetwitter

#canceltwitter

#boycotttwitter

#byetwitter

#deleteyouraccount

Oregon and Washington residents ranked 1-2, respectively, in terms of Twitter removal from their social media circles, while California came in at No. 8 on the Top 10 list.

Top 10 states:

1. Oregon

2. Washington

3. New Jersey

4. New Mexico

5. Maryland

6. Nevada

7. Colorado

8. California

9. Michigan

10. Virginia
