The Kansas Jayhawks will be a -21.5 favorite when they face off against Texas Southern in the 2022 NCAA Tournament on Thursday.

Bryson Etienne scored 21 points and Texas Southern beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 76-67 on Tuesday night in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers earned their third NCAA Tournament win in five seasons.

PJ Henry hit a go-ahead free throw to highlight a 7-0 run in which Texas Southern (19-12) took the lead and never surrendered. He finished with 14 points and shot 10 of 13 at the free throw line.

John Walker III added 16 points. Brison Gresham grabbed 13 rebounds and scored six points.

Kansas, meanwhile, would pay out $1400 on a $100 bet to win the NCAA Championship.  The team had been seeing some heavy early futures action even prior to knowing who they'd be facing in Round One.

The Tigers are 12-4-2 on neutral courts Against The Spread (75%).

Because KU has only won by more than 21 points in six games this season and Texas Southern has performed decent Against The Spread versus ranked opponents (9-5-1 since 2016), Texas Southern does have some value here at +21.5.  This line is on the money too, Gambling911.com has determined.
