Purdue would be a -3 favorite against Texas in the NCAA Tournament second round.

Texas lost to TCU in the Big 12 quarterfinal.  The Horned Frogs were down 20 at one point in that game.

That halftime deficit was the largest overcome by an unranked team against a ranked opponent since Illinois rallied from 20 down to beat No. 18 Clemson 76-74 on Dec. 2, 2009.

Texas has gone 12-2 Straight Up in non-conference games this season following their Friday night first round 81-73 victory over Virginia Teach. Senior guard Andrew Jones scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

Chris Beard remains undefeated in the opening round of the tournament at 5-0 and now boasts an 11-4 record overall ahead of a Sunday game against Purdue. The Longhorns are also 12-34 Straight Up as an away underdog since 2016 (26.1%).

Number 3 seed Purdue will come into their game versus Texas following an easy victory over Yale.

Jaden Ivey, one of the fastest players in college basketball, went 3 for 6 from 3-point range and 7 for 9 at the free-throw line in 27 minutes. The 7-foot-4 Zach Edey finished with 16 points and nine rebounds in 19 minutes.

Purdue did go 11-0 Straight Up in non-conference games this season.  As a favorite since 2016, Purdue is 130-32 (80.2%) Straight Up.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
