Midnight Bourbon pays 20-1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby.  He finished 2nd in the Louisiana Derby, his last race. Previous to that he finished 3rd in the Risen Star.  He had a first place finish in the Lecomte, a Grade 3 race.   He will be starting from the number 10 post position, which has nine wins.

He went five furlongs in 1:02.40 under exercise rider Wilson Fabian in his final workout before the Derby. The son of Tiznow posted splits of 24.40 and 49.60 and galloped out six furlongs in 1:16.20.

“I'm very happy with how he went,” Asmussen said. “We got exactly what we wanted and he continues to do very well.”
