Monday's Cardinals vs. Pirates Game Postponed - August 10

Monday's Cardinals-Pirates game is the latest to be affected by a coronavirus outbreak and will be postponed.   By late Sunday it appeared the entire series would be postponed this upcoming week.  Two more games were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Pirates flight to St. Louis was also cancelled Sunday.

It is unclear as to whether these teams will play on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Cardinals' three-game series against the Chicago Cubs this weekend was postponed after the league said two Cardinals players and one staff member tested positive for the coronavirus from samples collected over the past two days.

In total, nine Cardinals players and seven staffers have tested positive since last week. The Cardinals haven't played since July 29.

Some MLB observers claim Cardinals players and staff violated league protocol by visiting a casino.

The Miami Marlins, which became the first team to struggle with a significant Covid-19 outbreak, were back playing this weekend following nearly two weeks of game suspensions.
