NFL Betting – 2019 Week 13 Wise Guy Picks
The Thanksgiving Holiday means a busy week of NFL football. And a busy week of NFL football means more chances to win some coin on them. We can do that by following wise guy plays on the NFL betting line. It paid off again for us last week with a pair of winning tickets in the three games we monitored. Overall it’s been a good season so far with wise guys keeping us in the black. We’ll look to continue that heater this week while we feast on turkey and all the fixins.

Backing the Colts at +6 on the opening line in their AFC South tilt in Houston was a wise move. Indy lost the game, 20-17, to fall back in the standings, but they even covered on the closing spread of +3.5. The Cowboys didn’t get much help from the referees in their matchup with the AFC-best Patriots on Sunday, but they did enough to cash us a winning ticket. Wise guys backed the Boys at +6 and it was just enough to cover in their 13-9 loss.
Going against a trend and betting the under in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game cost us a perfect week. The Bucs played above the closing total in eight straight contests heading into last week’s NFC South showdown with the Falcons and wise guys were banking on that streak coming to an end. Well, it didn’t. With one of the NFL’s top offenses and one of the worst defenses, the Bucs are unpredictable. A late Falcons touchdown cashed the over in Tampa’s 35-22 victory.
There are no more byes meaning we have a full slate of 16 games starting on Turkey Day. And with more games come more chances to win, so let’s get started by following some wise guy plays. NFL Week 13 Wise Guy Picks
New Orleans Saints ( -7, 38.5 ) at Atlanta Falcons
Seeing a line move off a key number is significant. And so is watching a line move to a key number. The Saints opened as a 5-point road favorite for their Thanksgiving night game in Atlanta and were supported by 70 percent of the early money. You wouldn’t think that would be enough to force a spike in the line to -7, but there it was. This could be an indication that wise guys are backing the visitors.
There are a few things that make me believe this is a winning move. The Saints are in control of the NFC South and could wrap up the division title with a victory and a Carolina loss. And there’s the revenge factor. Just a few weeks ago the Falcons went into the Superdome and came away with a 26-9 win as a 14-point underdog.
Washington Redskins at Carolina Panthers ( -10, 39.5 )
With a majority of the early action backing the over on the opening total of 41 the number went against the public, which is a clear sign that wise guys are playing with the total. The Redskins haven’t scored more than 20 points in a game since Week 2, topping out at 19 in a win over Detroit last week. And the offense failed to produce a touchdown in that game. Four field goals and a kickoff return touchdown accounted for the points. They are dead last in the NFL averaging just 13.1 points per outing.
So you can see why the total tumbled to 39.5. The Panthers have more weapons and can actually put the ball in the end zone, though their failure to do so from close range last week cost them in New Orleans. Wise guys are counting on a pair of average defenses doing their thing, along with the Skins offense to cash the under.
Los Angeles Rams (-3, 47 ) at Arizona Cardinals
I’m not sure what’s going on with the Rams, but it looks like their stay among the NFC elite is over. A lot of the blame can be put on Jared Goff, who has looked absolutely horrible this season. If a straight up trade of Goff for Mitchell Trubisky took place, who wins? I know, that’s a trick question. The Rams hit the board as a 4.5-point favorite and got a majority of the early play. But considering they just got whacked by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, wise guys are betting on Kyler Murray putting on a show.
Another move against the public saw the line drop to Rams -3. The Cards are coming off a bye and they just played the NFC-best Niners close in a pair of losses while going 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven. Sean McVay hasn’t lost to Arizona in his tenure, but this isn’t the same Rams team from the past two seasons.
