NFL Betting Props – Super Bowl LIII MVP Odds
Tom Brady has defined his career in the Super Bowl and the MVP award should be named in his honor when he calls it quits. But Brady isn’t done yet and he has a chance to add to his record four MVPs when his New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

It’s not surprising Brady is the favorite with negative odds since he’s won the honor in four of the Pats five Super Bowl wins. And the quarterback on the favored team typically has the shortest odds. We’ve seen QB’s win the award in seven of the last nine Super Bowls and nine of the last 12. Brady and Jared Goff are tops on the odds board at BookMaker.eu with a significant drop after that.

Brady and the Pats were possessed in their first two playoff games, using their perceived demise as motivation to dismantle the Chargers in the Divisional Round and post an overtime road win in KC in the AFC title game. And Brady has been stellar completing 71.1 percent of his throws for 691 yards in the two games.

And you can’t overlook his performance in the Big Game. Brady’s first Super Bowl win came over the St. Louis Rams in the 2001 season when he threw for 145 yards and a touchdown. But leading his team to the upset win as a two-touchdown dog was impressive. Over his last seven Super Bowls, Brady has for at least 236 yards each time while amassing 1,299 passing yards in his last three games.
Brady’s best game statistically came last season in a loss to the Eagles. He completed 28 of 48 with three touchdowns and a record 505 yards. We’ve seen a quarterback win the MVP 29 times in the game’s history and it’s just an easy position to stamp a winner since he’s going to get a bunch of numbers.
It’s rare to see a defensive player win the award and its rarer to see a member of the losing team grab the hardware. Aaron Donald is highest on the odds board among defenders at +1500 and if anyone can put up numbers worthy of the award it’s him. Donald tallied a league best 20.5 sacks during the regular season, but he’s been a point of emphasis from opponents in the postseason. He has yet to record a sack and the Pats haven’t allowed one, so it’s probably a good decision to fade Donald.
The Rams have their own stable of playmakers and Todd Gurley has plenty of value at +1500. He was on the bench for most of the NFC Championship after a few early flubs almost cost the Rams. Sean McVay isn’t going to shy away from riding one of the best players during the regular season and you can bet Gurley is ready to redeem himself.
Gurley missed the last two regular season games with a knee injury, but he was devastating when he played. Gurley was the third-leading rusher with 1,251 yards and he scored a league-best 17 times on the ground. He added 580 yards through the air and totaled 21 touchdowns in 14 games. The Rams say his injury isn’t a concern and Gurley was critical of his play against the Saints. Taking a gamble on Gurley could pay off.
Julian Edelman is an interesting figure on the list. He’s been a favorite target of Brady in the postseason leading the team with 247 yards on 16 catches. What makes him a hot candidate is his role as punt returner. That gives the shifty Edelman a few extra chances to collect some numbers and help his cause. With odds of +4000 the payday would be nice.
