Newsom to Remain California Governor Following Recall Vote

Gavin Newsom was projected to win a special recall vote that would keep him in office as California Governor another year.  CNN made the projection shortly after 11:38 pm ET.  BetOnline had listed Newsom at -1000 to remain in office.

Millions of voters were left to be counted, including ballots cast on Election Day. Democrats were more likely to vote early, and Republicans hoped for a strong showing during in-person voting.

The Associated Press had yet to call the race prior to Midnight Eastern Time.

$276 million in tax payer money was spent on this special election.
