Jódar is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 15 achieved on 3 August 2026 and a doubles ranking of No. 344 achieved on 2 March 2026. He is currently the No. 2 Spanish player in men's singles.

He comes into this match as the -240 favorite to win. 

Jodar won 7-6 (5), 6-3 over Arthur Fils in the quarterfinals of Montreal on Tuesday.

Jodar got the better of the No. 24-ranked Frenchman in straight sets for the second tournament in a row as he advanced into the semifinals after one hour and 42 minutes on court. The rapidly-rising Spaniard is now projected to rise to a new career-high ranking of No. 11 in the world next week.

Nakashima is an American professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 29, achieved on 5 May 2025 and a best doubles ranking of No. 193, reached on 17 February 2025. He is currently the No. 6 American singles player.

Nakashima won 6-2, 6-3 over Luciano Darderi in the quarterfinals of Montreal on Tuesday.

Coming off a few tough three-setters en route to the quarters, Nakashima had a much easier time with the No. 22-ranked Italian as he cruised through in straight sets to reach the semifinals after one hour and 18 minutes on court. It marks the first Masters 1000 semifinal for the 25-year-old American, who is projected to rise to a new career-high ranking of No. 25 in the world.
