Russia was now listed at 14-1 odds to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup following a shock win over favorites Spain.

Bookmakers worldwide joined the celebration along with Russian fans.

This was the third biggest upset in FIFA World Cup history and biggest upset in the shootout stage.

The payout for those who bet Russia early should they go onto win would be $5000 on a $100 bet or greater.

The game finished 1-1 after extra time, and goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev made two key saves to help Russia win the shootout 4-3.

They are off to the quarter finals.

Spain won the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
