Will Tom Brady be mentioned?

Yes ( -517 )

No ( +363 )

Given that Brady kept Jimmy Garoppolo off the field for most of their time together in New England, and served as a mentor during those years, there is a strong chance that YES is a winner. So strong in fact that you’ll pay dearly to wager on it. But it’s Garoppolo’s time now and he deserves a lot of the credit for taking the Niners from a 4-win club in 2018 to the Super Bowl this year. Can Jimmy G finally get out of Brady’s shadow? It would be worth it to drop a few bucks on NO and maybe get a chunk of change back in the process. But how can a Super Bowl be played without a nod to the four-time MVP and six-time winner?

Prediction: Yes ( -517 )

Will game announcers say “Favorite” in reference to odds?

Yes ( +186 )

No ( - 238 )

We have to mention this prop, don’t we? For years the NFL and other professional sports tried to underscore and eliminate the gambling aspect fearing it would affect the integrity of their game and league. Well, that’s changed in recent years. There is a professional hockey team now located in the mecca of gambling, and the NFL will have one of its own in Las Vegas starting next season. And there’s the whole legalized gambling thing that now has league’s embracing the activity, as long as players and team representatives don’t indulge.

Money is a great motivator and it’ll certainly help professional sports in the coming years, so you can bet a reference will be made to the favorite. Maybe not in the same sentence, but if the crew is going to mention the Chiefs being the favorite, they’ll probably say something about their opponent being the underdog, which is another prop you can buy into.

Prediction: Yes ( +186 )

Will a clip of Chiefs in Super Bowl IV be shown?

Yes ( -188 )

No ( +149 )

It’s been 50 years, but the Chiefs last Super Bowl appearance was a pretty big deal. Back before several generations of current NFL fans were even born, the Chiefs’ win over Minnesota did more to legitimize the American Football League than any other event. Most credit Joe Namath and the Jets for beating Baltimore the year before as the defining moment in the AFL’s history. That was a nice win but NFL loyalists called it a fluke. It was so fluky that the Chiefs were a 12-point underdog in 1969. The AFL arrived, however, just in time for the merger with KC’s dominant 23-7 victory.

Not only was the win big, but so were the personalities. Hank Stram was the first head coach to wear a microphone during a Super Bowl and he provided a number of juicy sound bites that still resonate today. The network is doing a disservice to the Chiefs and the NFL if there are no clips of that game.

Prediction: Yes ( -188 )
