Tampa Bay Rays Betting Analysis

The Rays owned a 61-42 record and were just 2 games behind Boston in their division as the Red Sox were showing some signs of coming undone.

Recent MLB Betting Trends:  They had won 6 of their last 10 games.

MLB Betting Futures:  The Rays currently pay out $1400 on a $100 bet to win the 2021 World Series as of July 17.

Upcoming Series Trends

vs Boston

  • Eight of the last nine games in this series have gone OVER
  • Ten of the last twelve games in this series have gone OVER

Friday July 29

Red Sox Martin Perez (7-6, 4.18) vs. Rays Josh Fleming (7-5, 4.07)

Perez has not won since July 6.  He was charged with three runs over six innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

His last four starts have ended up with games resulting in 9 or more runs.

Josh Fleming allowed three runs in four innings in his start on Friday against the Rays, but didn't qualify for a decision.  He is also seeking out that elusive win.

Saturday July 30

Nathan Eovaldi BOS (9-5, 3.49) vs. Ryan Yarbrough TB (6-4, 4.38)

Eovaldi gave up just two runs in 7 2/3 innings on Saturday, but came away with no decision in his start against the Yankees.  Prior to this game he pitched well but also ended up with a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday night, allowing one run on two hits over five strong innings.  He lost in his previous start.

Yarbrough yielded one run over seven inning on Sunday in a no-decision against the Rays and had a loss prior to this game.

The last four games Yarbrough his started have held to 7 or fewer runs.

This one will likely go UNDER depending on the total, which we anticipate set at 9 or greater as Christian Vazquez, in particular, has enjoyed great success versus Yarbrough (8 of 21 at bats and 3 homers).  Yarbrough's last two starts featured a total of 9, so 9.5 is likely here.

Sunday August 1
