Titans Win Outright vs. Chiefs: Mattress Mack's $500K Bets
The Tennessee Titans are heading to the 2020 Super Bowl following an upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs, so says Jim McIngvale of Houston, Texas, better know to our readers as “Mattress Mack”.
Mack wasn't just betting big bucks on the Titans to cover a +7 line, he believed Tennessee will beat KC outright.
From David Pardum of ESPN:
Mattress Mack has placed two $500,000 money-line bets on the Titans to beat the Chiefs straight-up at 3-1 odds. Both bets were placed this morning, one at the Beau Rivage (@BetMGM) and the other at the Scarlet Pearl (@DKSportsbook) in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The future? Mattress Mack on Saturday tweeted that he was looking to get +300 on the Titans money-lin. Market price on Tennessee was--and remains--shorter than 3-1. It appears that at least one Mississippi sportbook was willing to give him his preferred odds, though.

Mack has become a sort of icon in the world of sports betting.
This past year the furniture mogul bet approximately $13 million that his beloved Houston Astros would win the World Series. They did not.
McIngvale told CNN he does not consider himself a big bettor but instead the mega bets were more of an insurance policy.
From CNN:
He had promised to give customers who spent more than $3,000 on certain mattress purchases a full refund if the Astros won the World Series.
McIngvale said that if the Astros had won, his winnings would have covered the cost of his customers' free mattresses.
"I didn't break even. My heart is broken, because I'm an Astros [fan]. I don't bet with my wallet, I bet with my heart and the city's heart is broken," he said.
