The number of Republicans who support former U.S. President Donald Trump more than the Republican party rose to 41%, according to an NBC News poll released Sunday.  That represented a seven point increase since May.  An FBI search of Trump's Mar-A-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida likely contributed to the boost.

Trump has used the unprecedented search as a means to fundraise.

An Axios source close to Trump says the fundraising effect has been "yuge," re-engaging donors.

Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis were dead heat favorites at -120 to receive the GOP nomination for U.S. President in 2024 at BetOnline.

The poll findings come as the special purpose acquisition company that agreed to take Trump Media and Technology Group public warned that potential damage to the ex-president's popularity could hurt his firm.

Digital World Acquisition Corp. will soon be meeting to vote on delaying the deadline for completing the merger between both companies.  DWAC said it could liquidate if the merger isn’t consummated.

Last Monday night (August 22), it was reported by the New York Times that the initial batch of documents retrieved by the National Archives from former President Donald Trump in January included more than 150 marked as classified.
