Wayne Allyn Root, who regularly tweetd positively about the former US President Donald Trump while routinely attacking the policies of Democrats on the platform, blamed the administration of now President Joe Biden for the ban.

"I've argued for quite some time that this was coming," he said.  "I warned that if Joe Biden were elected, Democrats would overplay their hand."

A spokesperson for the social media giant told The Post in a statement Monday that Root’s accounts were permanently barred “for repeated violations of our civic integrity policy.” Root has contributed to the Gambling911.com website in the past.

Under the policy, users “may not use Twitter’s services for the purpose of manipulating or interfering in elections or other civic processes.”

Twitter has also aggressively banned accounts that it says is a violation of Twitter's Glorification of Violence guidelines, including the account belonging to Trump.

Personalities in the conservative space have claimed they are specifically being targetted.  Project Veritas, a conservative group founded by controversial activist James O'Keefe, had its account banned on Thursday.  Jim Hoft, the founder and editor-in-chief of the right-wing blog Gateway Pundit, was banned the same day as Root.

“I am in shock,” Root told Fox News of his suspension. “It appears to be a permanent ban. Although I don’t know. Twitter never warned me…And never sent any communication saying I’ve been suspended or banned. I simply tried to tweet yesterday afternoon and could not. But unlike a previous suspension… My followers suddenly said zero.”

In addition to his role as a conservative commentator, Root is also a sports handicapper.
