UCF Outlook 2018
UCF, as noted above, was ranked 24 in the nation coming into the new season. Significantly more betting action from the Orlando area is expected as a result of this team's unbridled success of late. And there are no signs of waivering.
Much of last year's talent returns, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

The Current Climate of Sports Betting
The US Supreme Court abolished all previous sports betting prohibitions back in May, thus paving the way for individual states to amend their own laws. Some will (and alread have) welcome legalized sports gambling. Others will not (i.e. Utah).
Florida may lag behind other states as the Seminoles look to maintain their domination in the Sunshine State and Disney wants to prevent gambling expansion. Both groups have become unlikely allies in the fight for gambling in Florida by agreeing that a referendum should be voted on and that won't be happening with this upcoming election in November. As such, any amendments to current laws will occur after the 2018-2019 College Football season.
For those bookies focused on college students, there is a catch 22. Even if the state opts to allow legalized sports betting, wagers can only be placed by those 21 years or older. Most college students are 18 to 21 years of age. This of course provides bookies in the region with a terrific advantage.
