If two is better three is best, at least when it comes to UFC fights. The rubber match of the Dustin Poirier/Conor McGregor saga will be settled in the Octagon on Saturday inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas when the pair headlines UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3. That bout alone would be enough for any fan but the card is filled with 12 other fights, including four on the main card leading up to the featured event.  We have all your betting odds for this mega bout here.

Poirier (27-6) got his revenge in January at UFC 257 with a second round stoppage of McGregor (22-5). Poirier has been a dominant fighter since an unexpected loss to Michael Johnson in 2016 posting seven wins and a no contest in eight fights since then. And he certainly hasn’t shied away from facing the best, making his current run even more impressive. Poirier’s loss in that stretch was to Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of the best to ever enter the octagon. He came away victorious over Jim Miller, Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, Max Holloway, Dan Hooker and McGregor.

As destructive as he’s been and considering his win over McGregor when the two met at the beginning of the year, it’s hard to imagine Poirier being a -142 favorite on the UFC betting line. There has been money pouring in on Poirier in the last few days pushing the price up, but still there appears to be value backing The Diamond.

McGregor has fallen since his meteoric rise in UFC. His loss in January was his second in three bouts and he was also floored by Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring. McGregor was stopped by Nurmagomedov in the fourth round of their 2018 fight. He came back more than a year later to TKO Cowboy Cerrone and nearly one year to the day of that bout he was subdued by Poirier. For the first time since 2016 McGregor will have multiple fights in the same calendar year.

There are other fights on the card and I’d be remiss not to mention a few. The co-main event features a pair of welterweight contenders looking for another shot at the belt. Gilbert Burns (19-4) earned a shot at the strap by winning six consecutive fights. He came out strong against Kamaru Usman only to fade with a third-round stoppage loss. This bout means more to the title hopes of Stephen Thompson (16-4-1), who had two chances at the title. The first with Tyron Woodley was a draw and the second was a majority decision loss. Thompson won his last two fights by unanimous decision to get back in the picture.

While there is little value betting on ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley (13-1) in his bantamweight tussle with Kris Moutinho (9-4), it should be fun to watch. O’Malley rebounded from his first loss with an impressive display against Thomas Almeida in March with a first round knockdown and third round finish. A late add to the card for the injured Louis Smolka, Moutinho is a huge underdog in his UFC debut. Moutinho had some quality fights in the CES promotion, but nothing like what he’s about to face on Saturday.

Dustin Poirier (27-6, 14 KOs, 6 SUBs) vs. Conor McGregor (22-5, 19 KOs, 1 SUB)

Given the recent results for both fighters it’s easy to side with Poirier. His game has evolved over time with few weaknesses. And he’s bursting with confidence after taking out some talented fighters over the last few years. Oddsmakers have plenty of faith in The Notorious listing him at +112. McGregor hits with the best of them and hurt Poirier with a blow in the previous bout, though Poirier was able to survive by not letting his opponent know he was hurting. The threat of a McGregor knockout always exists, but Poirier’s conditioning allows him to avoid potentially dangerous situations. If McGregor doesn’t do damage in the first few rounds he’s likely done since he tends to falter in later rounds. And that leaves Poirier a chance to beat his rival again.
