Video: Bedlam as "Vegas Strip Shooting" Turns Out to be a False Alarm
There were some chaotic moments caught on camera the other night as folks ran for their lives thinking they were in the midst of yet another mass shooting.
The incident occurred overnight Saturday near the site of the nation's deadliest mass shooting, the MGM Casino in Vegas.
In the end, Las Vegas Police confirmed that a glass door had shattered, leading to the panic.
"Initial reports are a glass door shattered causing a loud noise which startled people in the valet area," the department said.
In 2017, a gunman opened fire on a crowd of festival goers from his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel.
Stephen Paddock killed 60 and injured another 867.
The motive for the mass shooting is officially undetermined.
Paddock used bump stocks to fire shots in rapid succession. Bump stocks were banned by the U.S. Justice Department in December 2018.
