Why They Go Deep

From ESPN.com: "Buzz Williams has done a remarkable job with Justin Robinson out and perhaps not coming back this season. Kerry Blackshear Jr. is one of the best big men in the country, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker is one of the best offensive players in the nation."

Until Selection Sunday, Robinson was questionable for playing in the NCAA Tournament.  But some great news was announced Sunday afternoon.  Robinson will be returning.

Why Be Concerned

Also from ESPN.com: "With Robinson, the Final Four was a legit goal. Without him, the second weekend would be a great success."

He's expected back but he has been out for 12 games with an injured left foot and the question remains: Will he be playing at 100%.  This is not likely the first week as one would expect him to, at the very least, be a bit rusty.  If they can survive the first weekend, sky is the limit.

Who They Will Play

It looked like New Mexico State, which won 16 straight coming into the Big Dance.  Instead, they lucked out playing St. Louis.  The Billikens are rated four points lower than the Aggies on Sagarin.  Virginia Tech should be an 11 point favorite or greater here with Robinson back.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
