More Than Two Dozen Arrested in Tuesday Gambling Raids

27 individuals were arrested Tuesday following the raids of two Westminster, CA homes.

Shortly after midnight, West County SWAT and Buena Park SWAT descended upon two houses, said Cmdr. Cord Vandergrift of the Westminster Police Department.

Sgt. Phuong Pham said 15 men and 12 women were arrested. Offenses included suspicion of illegal gambling or of narcotics possession.

Police said the crackdown came after a three-month investigation into illegal gambling in the city, which, Pham said, breeds other illegal activities.
