What Are The Odds - Boxing Men's Super Heavyweight Final - Tokyo Olympics

The odds to win gold in Boxing's Men's Super Heavyweight Final at the Tokyo Olympics appear below.  BetOnline offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1000).

Bakhodir Jalolov comes in as the favorite priced at -250.

Jalolov is an Uzbekistani professional boxer who, as an amatuer, won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships, gold at the 2019 edition and competed at the 2016 Olympics, acting as Uzbekistan's flag bearer during the opening ceremony.

He is the reigning world and Asian champion.

Jalolov was slated to take on Indian boxer Satish Kumar (+91kg) in the quarterfinals following Kumar's defeat of Jamaica's Ricardo Brown in his opening bout.

“He (Jalolov) is not unbeatable. Although Satish has never won against him but the last time they fought in the India Open, it was split verdict. He ran him close,” Indian boxing’s High Performance Director Santiago Nieva was quoted as saying by PTI.

Kumar, incidentally, was being offered at 50-1 odds to win the gold.

Kamshybek Kunkaba pays $600 for every $100 bet to win gold in the Super Heavyweight Final.

The Kazakhstani won a silver medal at both the 2017 and 2019 World Championships as an amateur.

Richard Torrez, of the USA, will likely see some action here but comes in with relatively long 10-1 payout odds.  He is among the smallest boxers in the Super Heavyweight division.

“The ref will call you to the center of the ring and you’ll touch gloves, and usually I have to touch gloves above my head now,’’ Torrez said. “It’s definitely an experience.’’

He was a high school valedictorian, participated on the chess team and in his school's robotics club.

He's also an engineering nerd.

“I just watched a video of this guy building a pool table, but it wasn’t just a pool table,’’ Torrez told USA TODAY Sports. “It was a pool table that would choose a shot for him. He designed this pool stick to make every single shot for him that he wanted to make. That type of stuff just amazes me."

Torrez comes into this summer's Olympics as a third-generation fighter.

“Boxing is known as the sweet science,’’ he said. “People call it a chess match, you know? It’s a thinking game. So I do think a lot of boxers have this in them. I just think they don’t show it in the same ways I do.’’

British boxer Frazer Clarke has slightly longer odds at 11-1.

In 2019, Clarke was selected to compete at the European Games in Minsk, Belarus, where he suffered a surprise defeat to Nelvie Tiafack in the round of 16.

On his World Championships debut, he was believed to have beaten Maksim Babanin by split decision (3:2) in the quarterfinals.  That result was later overturned following a review on appeal.
