What Are The Payout Odds to Win - Men's Skeleton - Beijing Olympics
The Men's Skeleton odds were quite competitive at this year's Beijing Winter Olympics, though Martins Dukurs [LAT] was the odds-on favorite promising a payout of $20 for every $10 bet.
Dukurs is a Latvian skeleton racer who has competed since 1998. He is a six-time world champion in men's skeleton, a double Olympic silver winner (at Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014), and the athlete with the most World Cup titles with a total of 11, having won eight consecutive titles between 2010 and 2017, plus another three consecutive titles between 2020 and 2022.
Christopher Grotheer [GER], Axel Jungk [GER] and Evgeniy Rukosuev [ROC] were each coming in at between 5-1 and 6-1 odds.
Grotheer has competed since 2007. His debut at the European Cup was in November 2010. Grotheer's best Skeleton World Cup finish was 3rd in season 2012–13.
Jungk finished in third place in the standings in the 2014-15 Skeleton World Cup season. During the 2015-16 Skeleton World Cup Season he finished fourth and, in the 2016–17 World Cup circuit, he once again finished fourth with a bronze at Altenberg.
Jungk finished fourth in the 2018-19 Skeleton World Cup with a silver at Winterberg and a bronze in Igls.
Similar to the Luge, Skeleton is a winter sport where athletes run and jump onto a sledge, belly down, and speed off down a track, using their legs and shoulders to control their direction.
