NY Traffic pays $15 for every $1 bet and Pneumatic pays $20 for every $1 bet to win the Preakness Stakes.
NY Traffic barely missed running down Authentic in the July 18 Haskell Stakes (G1) at Monmouth Park in a 1 1/8-mile contest.
“Going into the race, we thought he looked good and trained good, and we thought he would run well,” NY Traffic trainer Saffie Joseph recalled. “He didn’t. But that’s horse racing, and you always keep moving forward.”
Pneumatic made his stakes debut in the 1 1/16-mile Matt Winn (G3), battling for the lead through the Churchill Downs stretch before yielding and running third, beaten 1 ¾ lengths.
