The Northeastern vs. Kansas betting line was coming in at Jayhawks -6 after opening at -8.5.  The reason for this move is due to heavy early action on the Huskies surprisingly.

Northeastern - ESPN.com writes of this team: “Northeastern plays efficient offense on the strength of its perimeter shooting and risk aversion. Three of the Huskies' four leading scorers shoot more than 40 percent from beyond the arc, which stretches opposing defenses like a rubber band. The offense runs effectively regardless of who initiates it, and the collective unselfishness of the group contributes to high-quality shots and low turnover rates.”

Sounds good, right?

The Huskies have almost no chance if they do not convert 3s at a high percentage because of their defensive woes.

Kansas - For good reason, the public just doesn't like these Jayhawks.

Center Udoka Azubuike played in just nine games before tearing ligaments in his right hand while another big man, Silvio De Sousa, was ruled ineligible for the year. Guard Lagerald Vick took a leave of absence earlier last month.

The Jayhawks' streak of 14 consecutive Big 12 titles did come to an end with a loss to Iowa State, but they still went 6-4 Against The Spread in their last ten games.

The oddsmakers do not have a strong opinion of Kansas as they are aggressively moving the line along with the public action.

Be careful!  Sagarin indicates the line on this game should be Jayhawks -10.5.  Kansas can still score.  They shoot the ball well from 3-point range.

Despite their hard luck, if the Jayhawks can somehow make it into the Sweet 16, they'll be playing with home court advantage in Kansas City.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
